Marinship: What it Was
Marinship - What it Was
CMCM's latest exhibit, "Marinship," tells the amazing story of how a shipyard was hastily built in Sausalito during WWII. During it's three short years of operation, the yard produced 15 Liberty Ships and 78 Tankers. Speed, quality, and efficiency was the theme at Marinship during its entire time of operation.
Curator Eric Torney is a 4th generation California native. Living in Marin all of his life, Eric graduated from Kent School, Redwood High School, College of Marin, and U.C. Berkeley. He now regularly volunteers at Sausalito Historical Society and has produced several exhibits featuring Marinship.
